Description
Here's a picture I did for a friend's poetry book. I enjoyed it because it was a chance to have my own vision for a picture for once. It is meant to capture feelings of depression and suicide.

I agree with both of them; great lighting. The contrast obviously worked out great.
As for the feeling of depression you tried to capture here, I got mixed feelings over it. On the one side the dark room and harsh shadows indeed give off the feeling of depression. Also because you've left it black and white. On the other side the light and the open window appear to be rather hopeful. The whole concept might've worked a bit better with a closed window, as it might've captured the feeling of entrapment better. But that's just my 5 cents.
